Mr Hartnett Cover Work 23/10/12

Be able to identify personal development needs and the ways of addressing
them

What do we mean by the term personal development?

In a personal development plan you would need to list your current skills and attributes.

The second stage would be to list skills and attributes that you would like to develop.

The third stage would be to establish what opportunities you would need to take on to develop these skills or attributes.

E.g

Personal Development Plan:

Name:

Time Frame 2012-2013

Then using the following headings construct the following tables for stage 1

Current Skills, Current Attributes, evidence of use of these skills or attributes

Stage 2:

List desire attributes that you feel you need to develop. USE A TABLE TO DISPLAY THE INFORMATION.

Here is an example of how you could layout your work. You will need to find the hyperlink on the page that leads you to the template.

Cover work for Mr King Tutor group Thu 11th Oct

What we understand by the arts and how we might judge different art forms
Aim:
Be aware of what constitutes an art form.

Understand how different people apply value to art forms through their aesthetic judgments.
 Starter:
Students are to determine and list which disciplines come under “the arts”
Main part one:
The slides (G>BUSINESS>Mr King>Tutor Group>Cover work presentation) look at and discuss how many of the disciplines that come under “the arts”.
Ensure you are ready to back up your judgements with a valid reason.
There are videos to be played on slides 8 and 13. These should play with a click of a mouse on the link at the bottom of the page.
Second part two:
Students are to write a review on a subject which they were previously opposed to. Hopefully enabling them to find and understand the positive aspects about something which they previously disregarded as an art form.
 For next week
Students to present their articles. (Select good examples, 3 to 4)

YR 12 PUBLIC SERVICES WED 03 OCT 12

There will be no Yr 12 Level 3 Public Services (Land Navigation) lesson today. It is however imperative that all P1/P2 work and activities from Unit 35 are completed today, printed off and left for assessment on the desk in AR105.

Next Wednesday the visit to the Imperial War Museum has been confirmed. Arrangements will be discussed next Monday/Tuesday. In the meantime carry out some preparatory research for your folder about the Aschroft Gallery which will be visited to look at some of the collection of Victoria and George Crosses. Design and print off a suitable worksheet where you can record some of the exploits that led to the award of the medals, with partucular focus on leadership and the PS skills and qualities discussed.
